Every Song Tells A Story: Tonight I Ride

The Story

From my late teens to my mid-twenties, I was fairly busy in a musical sense. I was in a few bands (mostly on drums) and had begun to explore songwriting. At some point, life happened and more serious issues started to arise.

Two Gigs: Crossroads (NJ) and National Underground (NYC)

I’ve added two gigs to the calendar, folks. I sure hope to see you there if you’re in the area.

December 2, 2011 will be at one of my favorite NJ venues, The Crossroads in Garwood, NJ. We go on at 8pm. Dave Wilson will be making his debut on lead guitar. Steve Savona is on bass and Rob Silverman will be on drums. It’s always a good time at Crossroads and the food is great so please come on down and have some fun with us.

Every Song Tells A Story: Something New

The Story

I work from home most Wednesdays, at least at the time of this writing. I also use those days as music days, where I can work on my original material. I have my work computer dialed in to my left and my Mac all set up with the interface on my right. So when I’m taking breaks or in between things for work, I just roll my chair over and record a track or something. Wednesdays are usually great days for getting work done in both cases. There are few distractions. I can knock out a lot of my work (for my day job) in half the time I normally would. I can also get a lot of music written or recorded.

Every Song Tells A Story: There You Are

The Story

This song was a very interesting one for me in that it wasn’t written in the usual way. I wrote it with my friend Doug Brehm one night. Doug and I usually hang out together on random Friday nights to either watch a flick or play some video games and drink a few beers. I’ve known Doug since high school and while he’s always a bit timid about his playing, he’s actually quite melodic and has developed his own little style of playing based on folks like Andy Summers of The Police and The Edge of U2.
